Just in time for the holidays, the Trump Administration adopted the first of three new rules drastically cutting access to SNAP food assistance for low-income families. More than 700,000 will lose this aid immediately. Over 3 million will lose SNAP benefits if the other rules are adopted, and more than 5 million households will see nutrition assistance cut.

Trump and his Republican enablers lavished big corporations and wealthy hedge fund managers with massive tax cuts. But Trump denies the nation's neediest working families even subsistence-level aid. It seems the cruelty is the point.
